Escaping the Red Room

published 08.Oct.08 by Alan Levine

I am sensing I am near the end of my exploration of this radical new NMC project. I have been all round this place that seems so far from 4 sided prim rooms in Second Life… it seems… alive. Today, I found myself in this murky red room, that I could not really find the edges.

It had a sense of being almost womb like, yet was far from having a nurturing sense. The upper edges have some almost disturbing iconography, but there’s more. As I tried to move, I seemed to have lost control of my own movement- was I “hacked”? My avatar went into motions beyond my control and actually seemed to be violent.

How do I know I am reaching near the end? A mysterious avatar not on my contact list somehow IM-ed me some re-assurance to keep going and all would be revealed in a few hours. With that, I hope to be able to tell you the full details on this place, and when you will be able to check it out.

For me, this has been one of the most surreal in world experiences! I am anxious to hear what it means for others.

But alas, I have some more puzzles to solve before I can share with you, dear reader, some sense of clarity.
